About this opportunity

We are currently seeking an Finance Clerk to join our central Finance team.

The successful candidate will support the month-end process close for our businesses. The key role is to record journal entries across all groups, ensure timely completion of entries, posting entries, and complete reconciliations as required.

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day

  • Prepare and book journal entries required to reflect the Company’s activities
  • Work with different parts of the finance team (e.g. treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable) and the business (e.g. operations, payroll, etc.) to obtain information for proper journal entry posting
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to subledger and supporting documentation, as assigned
  • Work with financial analyst and support analyst in preparing analysis such as downloading details from systems, working with large amounts of data and identify trends and prepare analysis
  • Respond to inquiries from management and business in a timely manner
  • Work with financial analyst to support monthly reporting, quarterly financial statements preparation and other reporting deliverables
  • Participate in the ongoing improvement of existing processes and systems
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need to be successful

  • Currently enrolled in Business/ Accounting/ Finance program or completed college diploma;
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethics, ability to deliver work on-time, prioritize workflow and meet reporting deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication skills
  • Work as an effective member of a team as well as independently
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information with professionalism and tact
