We are a well-established, growing public accounting firm focused on individuals with small to medium sized businesses as well as personal and corporate tax compliance. We have built our client base on respect and long-lasting relationships. We specialize in tax analysis, tax preparation and financial services. The firm is seeking a professional, self motivated Intermediate to Senior Accounting Technician.

The Position
Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Firm standards for clients in a variety of businesses by completing assigned working papers
  • Examine and analyze client accounting and financial records to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards
  • Preparation of corporate tax returns
  • Aiding clients on bookkeeping and/or software issues
  • GST reconciliation, preparation, and filing
  • Payroll preparation and related filings
  • Preparation of personal tax returns and adjustments
  • Preparation of T4, T5 and T5018 forms
  • Phone calls and e-mails to and from clients
  • Light administrative duties as needed
  • Training and discussion with clients

The Candidate
We are seeking an intermediate to senior accounting technician who is currently enrolled in the CPA program and nearing completion of the program. This position has the opportunity to grow into a management role over time so we are seeking someone who takes pride in their work and is comfortable taking on complex assignments and making decisions on files.

The candidate should be comfortable with training and mentoring junior staff and communicating with the manager and partners.

The candidate should have advanced knowledge of the following programs and softwares:

· Quickbooks, Xero, and Sage

· Microsoft office suite products (excel, word etc.)
