Lead the communication, interpretation, application, and implementation of results for actuarial analysis
Communicate complex actuarial concepts in clear, easy to understand terminology to promote impacts / ramifications to senior leadership and risk management
Monitor competitiveness and market intelligence to adapt strategies
Manage the development and evolution of telematics pricing data, reports and models
Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Oversee or lead the facilitation and/or implementation of action / remediation plans to address performance / risk / governance issues
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct
Responsible for management of the overall team providing leadership, and guidance for own area of specialization
Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees
Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally
Oversee and lead a highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results
Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
Focus on longer-range planning for functional area
Generally reports to functional / business executive or the Chief Actuary
Undergraduate degree in actuarial science or other quantitative area of study
Corporate actuarial / valuation experience
Experience with GGY AXIS (and SAS is an asset)
