Position: Senior System Administrator

Client: Federal Government Client

Location: Onsite (Ottawa, ON)

Duration: 12 months (+ Two, 12 month extension)

Language: English

Background: Our valued public sector clients are seeing the services of a Senior System Administrators to assist in the management and maintenance of an Information and Communication Technology system and architecture. This team will be required to assist in the maintenance, and consistency of the information systems network. The Senior System Administrators will be performing advanced configuration support to complex server-based systems maintaining and supporting the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience as a System Administrator
  • Secret Clearance with the Federal Government of Canada
  • 10 years experience in performing backup and recovery initiatives for IT systems

Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain operating systems;
  • Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain hardware and software;
  • Work with business analysts, project managers, developers, and clients/stakeholders to maintain and improve software performance;
  • Apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems;
  • Ensure timely and reliable system administration procedures, such as backup and/or recovery; and
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $70.00-$90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

  • Monday to Friday
