I.T. Asset Management Specialist - Software Management focusedThis role is responsible for the management of software technology assets, focusing on optimizing the value and cost of technology assets throughout their life. This is done by establishing a technology life cycle that spans from asset discernment, procurement, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, and retirement/disposal of the asset. This role is responsible for establishing the governance of this life cycle and providing an accurate account of all software technology asset life cycle costs to improve management of assets within the organization. In this role you will be the central point for data analysis to support the effective management of software technology assets, whether owned and managed by IT, third-party service providers, or business units outside IT. Key Responsibilities:Process owner for software asset managementDevelop and maintain the process and procedures required to successfully manage all aspects of software asset managementCreate and maintain a list of all purchased software licenses globallyMaintain software compliance of all purchased softwareConduct internal audits of all installed software using tools such as SCCM and FlexNet ManagerCompare installed quantities to purchased quantitiesEnsure type of use is compliant to licensing terms and conditionsIdentify compliance gaps, analyze options, propose and coordinate resolutionCoordinate cross functional resources for successful completion of external compliance auditsOptimize software license utilization globallyAnalyze software license models aligned to business use casesDetermine if more cost-effective / value add licensing model existsPropose changes and coordinate implementation if approvedDefine and implement software reclamation for user-based licenses and subscriptionsInterface with HR to include organizational changes in optimizing software usageFacilitate subscription and maintenance renewals of enterprise strategic software including: Microsoft EA / SCE, Adobe, Siemens, Audodesk, …Proactively engage supplier to initiate renewal processAssess current license position, use cases, and near term needs to insure correct type and quantities of licensesNegotiate with supplier best possible agreement to meet Husky needsFacilitate renewal / procurement of softwareCoordinate cross functional implementation of new software licensing keysOwner of the Software Request processContinually assess the Software Request process and update as needed to meet changing business needsReview and approve Software RequestsInvestigate use cases for the software requestDirect end-users to standard software wherever possibleCoordinate activities to procure and install non-standard softwareAdminister supplier portals for various software in alignment with business needs and in compliance with procured licensesMicrosoft, Adobe, Autodesk, …Ensure that ITAM-related tools and services are properly evaluated, selected, implemented, configured and maintained, with appropriate integration with other sources of organizational dataSkills, Knowledge & Abilities Required:Team player, in a fast-paced environment; comfortable interfacing with cross-functional global groups with minimal supervisionAbility to come along side end-users to understand their software needs and find creative solutionsStrong analytical, data processing and problem-solving skillsQuick Learner, ability to self-learn through a variety of online capabilities and willing to move forward with imperfect information knowing you can learn from mistakes that are made to improve the next time.Strategic thinking - an understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to develop a strategy for SWAM to drive results toward those objectivesMature interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to galvanize external and internal stake-holders to align to policies and best practices of the Husky software asset management strategyNegotiation skills to work with suppliers to accomplish the best outcomes for HuskyAbility to read and interpret license agreements to assess proper use and costs over the asset life cycle to include: license, subscription, and maintenance agreementsPolicy, process, and procedure development and implementationFluent in English, additional language skills considered helpfulQualifications:An undergraduate degree in IT, engineering, business, computer science, or equivalent work experienceExperience working in IT, technical procurement, or contract negotiations1-3 years' experience in IT asset management or related field is helpfulExperience with SCCM, FlexNet Manager, and other license audit and monitoring tools is helpfulKnowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Agreement construct is an advantage
