Job Summary: The Operations Manager will oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of our lighting manufacturing and distribution processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in operations management, preferably within the lighting or a related industry. Manage and supervise the daily operations of the manufacturing and distribution departments.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures.
Quality Assurance Management:
Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance protocols and procedures.
Monitor and evaluate product quality of finished product to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Maintain communication with vendor manager to ensure smooth manufacturing overseas
Lead the resolution of quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive measures as needed
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production, logistics, and warehouse staff.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process optimization techniques.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed to meet operational goals.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
Collaborate with the procurement team to maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage supply chain logistics.
Coordinate with sales and marketing departments to forecast demand and plan production accordingly.
Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Monitor operational expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
Prepare regular reports on operational performance and financial metrics for senior management.
Continuously improve the customer experience through efficient operations and quality products.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial/Electrical Engineering, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
~5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in the lighting industry or a related field.
~ Proven track record of successfully managing suppliers and distribution operations.
~ Strong leadership and team management skills.
~ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
~ Proficient in using ERP systems and other operational management software.
