We work hard to ensure that, whether we’re installing new systems, servicing an emergency repair, or proactively maintaining your current HVAC and refrigeration systems, we always work efficiently.Position Description:We are seeking a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker/Gasfitter B OR an Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker to join our growing team in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have a background in the service of gas fired heating appliances and a willingness to learn the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade. This is a valuable opportunity for the right candidate to earn a third trade ticket if desired. Responsibilities:· Install, inspect, and maintain various refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including split systems, rooftop units, chillers, and ventilation systems.· Diagnose and repair malfunctions or defects in equipment, components, or systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.· Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with apex Refrigeration policies and procedures.· Take the lead/be available for consultation on job scopes pertaining to Sheet Metal Work – able to complete a furnace replacement from start to finish.· Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute installation or repair projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.· Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.· Use CRM software to document repair information, equipment information, complete safety documentation, and log time for payroll.· Receive and execute instructions from job leads and supervisors.· Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, addressing concerns, and explaining technical information in a clear manner.· Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and guidelines.· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.· Drive and maintain a service vehicle.Position Requirements:· Red Seal Journeyperson Sheet Metal Worker/Gasfitter B OR indentured Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker· Class 5 Driver’s License with acceptable abstract (must be licensed in Canada for a minimum of three years)· Clean Criminal Record Check· Possess expert-level knowledge of duct design/best practicesPrevious experience in the installation of furnaces and packaged rooftop units is required, service and repair of these appliances is considered a strong asset· Hold safety certifications (TDG, Fall Protection, etc.) or willing to obtain· Ability to work independently and as part of a team· Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position, including but not limited to lifting objects, climbing ladders, working in restricted spaces, and working at heights· Ability to operate a service vehicle legally and safely· Effective time management and organizational skills· Effective communication skills in English, verbal and written· Ability to participate in a on-call rotation and respond to service calls after hours, on weekends, and on holidays. Compensation is negotiable based on relevant experience and qualifications.
