As the Senior Director of People Operations, you are a versatile and strategic leader. This unique position will play a pivotal role in driving organizational excellence, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting the executive team in achieving company and people goals.

This role is responsible for leading the People Operations team and building a strategic roadmap for the function. You will be responsible to lead projects related to Hiring strategy, Headcount planning, Compensation and Total Rewards, Performance among others, while also being a trusted advisor to the senor leadership team and providing strategic guidance and support. You will lead initiatives to foster a culture that values collaboration, the sharing of ideas, and a constant focus on innovation and teamwork.

Core Responsibilities

1. People Operations Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's objectives to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and offboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations in both the US and Canada.
  • Collaborate with department heads to address employee relations issues and foster a supportive work environment.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the department’s processes and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and enhance RocketRez’s employment brand strategy to attract talent & showcase our culture and values.

2. Organizational Development:

  • Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational growth and scalability initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to define and promote the company's core values, mission, and culture across all departments and locations.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance employee engagement, morale, and productivity.
  • Implement programs to support diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.

3. Strategic Leadership:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and confidant to the CEO and executive team, providing strategic guidance and support.
  • Act as a liaison between the executive team and other departments, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage special projects and initiatives on behalf of the CEO, driving cross-functional collaboration and execution.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification is a bonus.
  • Previous experience in a People Operations leadership role, preferably at a high growth technology start up, with experience in a strategic capacity, building teams from the ground up.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements in the US and Canada.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing people operations teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a Chief of Staff or similar role preferred, with a demonstrated ability to support executive leadership and drive organizational initiatives.
