Burlington ON, Canada Stoner & Company Family Law Associates Full time

 Stoner & Company Family Law is a busy law firm located in Burlington and Oakville, dedicated to providing the highest quality legal services to our clients. We are currently seeking an intermediate or senior Law Clerk for our Burlington office. This position is in person.

 

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and benefit plan.

 

Qualifications and skills required include:

 

•Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

•Experience working in a detail oriented and high-pressure environment

•Professional presentation and communications skills

•Excellent interpersonal skills and friendly telephone manner

•Strong organizational skills

•Community college or university degree

•Law clerk experience or degree from accredited program

•Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

• Drafting and organizing - orders, confirmation notices, correspondence, briefs

• Divorcemate: drafting financial statements, compiling financial disclosure, preparing support calculations

• Scheduling court appearances

• Maintaining tickler system

• Trial preparation (reviewing file, preparing witness list, ordering transcripts, preparing Exhibit Briefs, Briefs of Authorities, and other documents for Trial etc.)

• Maintaining communication with clients, court offices, and other law firms

• Assisting with mediation and ADR preparation

• Schedule management

•Managing and filing incoming emails/correspondence, calendar entries, scheduling meetings, client intake

• Supporting other team members when needed

• Other administrative tasks as required
