Responsibilities

In this role, the successful candidate will assist the Maintenance Assistants with lawn and garden care and general maintenance of the Hospital grounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Constant heavy exertion, i.e., extensive walking, standing, pushing, bending as well as heavy lifting over 60 lbs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance; experience in the use of industrialized grounds equipment is preferred.
  • Evidence of good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Evidence of ability to work well independently and as a member of the team.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
