This position involves overseeing new employee orientation, managing training records, generating reports, assessing training needs, scheduling facilities, coordinating with instructors and vendors, maintaining training equipment, developing training content, and ensuring budget adherence. Your day-to-day:Oversee orientation and onboarding programs for new salaried and bargaining unit employees. Schedule and coordinate an efficient training record keeping system for in house safety and other requisite courses, as required. Produce daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as required.Assess relevant training requirements for new and existing employees and monitor completion rate and compliance data, where appropriate or required.Schedule training facilities and coordinate with various instructors and third-party training vendors to develop and deliver corporate training programs and ensure all materials and supplies are prepared.Ensure training facilities and equipment are maintained and set up for courses. Initiate, investigate, and work with subject matter experts to modify or develop new or current training programs to support the ongoing and future needs of the operation.Develop and update training job aids and content to support all training courses.Monitors spending to ensure adherence to budget. Job Skills and Knowledge:Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills including problem solving, presentation and facilitation of programs. Experience in developing and implementing large and small presentations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate concepts into design and create insight from information.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, D365, and other Training record keeping systemsFamiliar with OHSA and Ministry of Labour Reviews and legislation related to compliance. Extremely organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.Job Qualifications:University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline; certified Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRL) would be an asset.Experience (3-5 years) in Human Resources with 1-2 years in Training or Facilitation in a unionized work setting.Experience working in manufacturing or heavy industry is considered an asset.Progressively responsible human resources management experience in a unionized work setting. Working Conditions:Both facilities operate 24 hours a day 365 days a yearFast-paced office and industrial manufacturing environment for a high impact teamThe job at times may require you to enter various areas of the facilities.Safety is our highest priority and safety procures and guidelines must always be adhered. This includes wearing Stelco provided PPE, such as a hard hat, protective eye and earwear, gloves, respirator (if applicable) and safety boots.On call at timesThe position may require flexibility in working hours for projects, deadlines, as required.Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
