We are currently seeking an ETL Technical Lead for an Investment Bank in Montréal

Business Overview

A specialized IT team has been assembled within a financial institution to create and support tailored solutions for Finance, Risk, and Liquidity functions. As part of this initiative, the Shared Data Ecosystem (SDE) team oversees the end-to-end delivery of a new data warehouse that offers solutions to downstream applications. Their responsibilities encompass project management, architecture, solution design, business process and data analysis, specifications, build, testing, go-live, and post-go-live support, following established IT procedures and standards by the IT group and IT governance.

Summary of the Role

The Shared Ecosystem team is in search of an ETL Technical Lead responsible for constructing a framework, encompassing data transformation, data model, data mart, control framework, and user interface. The successful candidate will collaborate with the entire project team, including Project Management, Data Solution Architect, Business Analysts, Functional teams, and Downstream Applications to execute the project plan. Ensuring platform security and adherence to IT Security requirements is a pivotal aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the technical delivery of a global solution meeting project requirements and IT security standards.
  • Works closely with the Project Team, designing, reviewing, and building technical ETL, DQ solutions based on functional requirements.
  • Analyzes business needs, translates functional requirements into technical specifications, and collaborates with the technical team for end-to-end solutions.
  • Builds partnerships with development teams on data management and other workstreams.
  • Leads and manages development related to the Core platform and Data Management team.
  • Coordinates multiple technical topics across infrastructure teams, challenges proposed technical solutions, and monitors timelines.
  • Assists the Project Manager in executing the project plan, managing issues and risks, and reporting status, budget consumption, and capacity planning.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing a Technical Team in the Banking industry or large Corporations.
  • Excellent understanding of Data Warehouse, ETL, Business Intelligence, and Infrastructure concepts.
  • Recent and tangible experience in managing large technical projects and resources.
  • Advanced level expertise (hands-on) in ETL development, Advanced PLSQL, Unix Shell Scripting, Autosys, and Business Intelligence.
  • Knowledge of development technologies such as Informatica PowerCenter/Data Quality, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle OFSAA, Oracle OBI is a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, change management, and risk management.
  • Strong ability to organize activities, prioritize, and pay attention to details.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Results-driven and client-focused.
