Position Summary:

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will undergo a comprehensive training opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required for managing warehouse operations efficiently. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on experience in various aspects of warehouse and logistics management, including purchasing, team leadership, and process optimization. The trainee will work closely with experienced managers and gain exposure to the day-to-day activities involved in running a successful warehouse.

1. Purchasing Management:

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices and favorable terms.
  • Place purchase orders based on inventory needs and operational requirements.
  • Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery of goods.

2. Order Fulfillment:

  • Learn the order fulfillment process, including picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Work with the team to ensure orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

3. Logistics Coordination:

  • Understand the logistics and transportation aspects of warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation.

4. Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Work as part of a team to accomplish daily operational goals.

5. Safety and Compliance:

  • Learn and adhere to safety protocols and warehouse compliance regulations.
  • Assist in promoting a culture of safety and compliance within the warehouse.

6. Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Propose and implement improvements under the guidance of experienced managers.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate documentation related to warehouse activities.
  • Learn to generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to drive improvements.

8. Problem Resolution:

  • Gain experience in addressing and resolving operational issues as they arise.
  • Work with mentors to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain concepts.
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
