Why is this role important?

Working within an interdisciplinary matrix team on interoperability, the Analys is responsible for supporting the project activities of the pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework, conducting analyses across CIHI minimum data standards and relevant external data standards, CIHI’s Common Reference Data Model and across international interoperable data exchange standards and code systems. The Analyst interprets results and collates findings to help inform the Primary Health Care data content standards, code systems and architecture.

What you'll do

1. Develops and maintains an understanding of the CIHI data content standards and relevant external standards including Primary Health Care, Home and Continuing Care, Acute and Ambulatory Care, CIHI’s Reference Data Model, HL7-FHIR, SNOMED-CT etc..

2. Supports, comparative gap analysis of standards.

3. Supports analysis and engagement activities to develop and socialize the project deliverables including the data content standards, and related artifacts.

4. Coordinates operational and logistical aspects related to the project deliverables including, but not limited to, organizing and/or facilitating meetings, drafting, and developing pertinent documentation, and obtaining required approvals.

5. Supports the feedback and review process from internal/external stakeholders on relevant artifacts of the pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework.

6. conducts environmental scans and literature reviews to understand the health care environment relating to vendor activity, EMR and HIS standards and the jurisdictional priority areas.

7. Supports the review and feedback process of publication, translation and dissemination and communication of all material, products, and publication as they relate to primary health care, ensuring overall quality assurance.

8. Provides support to internal and external strategic committees, including planning and organizing meetings, producing relevant supporting documentation, coordinating information dissemination.

9. Supports the development of relevant reports and contributes to abstracts and posters/presentations for conferences and stakeholder engagement.

10. Contributes to the promotion of CIHI products and services through participation on external committees, presentations and/or attendance at conferences, preparation of articles for publication and other activities as required.

11. Assumes responsibility for other related duties, as required. What you'll bring to the table

• Undergraduate degree in Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• One to three years related work experience, with health data standards, data analysis, health information management or working with healthcare systems and/or health data.
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and other subject matter experts to gather relevant information to develop and support project activities.
• Conceptual understanding of health, the health care system, as well as a sound knowledge of health information and its uses for policy development, planning, management, and evaluation purposes.
• Understanding of project management fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Specifically, the ability to write and present to a variety of audiences. Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a part of an interdisciplinary team within a matrix environment.
• Experience in MS Office Suite including advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

• Knowledge and understanding of any of the following is an asset:
Interoperability
Relevant standards, such as ICD-9/10-CA/CCI, SNOMED CT CA, LOINC
HL7- FHIR
Health Data models
SAS, Python, or R programming language

• Experience with health system research and policy development is an asset.
• Fluency in English required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
