The Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) is an indigenous-governed, culture-based and Indigenous-informed organization. Its key mandate is to support the advancement and evolution of Indigenous primary health care services provision and planning throughout Ontario. Membership includes Aboriginal Health Access Centres (AHAC), Aboriginal governed Community Health Centres (ACHC), other Indigenous governed providers and partnering Indigenous health researchers and scholars. **Overview**

The Accreditation Specialist will work within the Traditional Healing and Wellness Program, reporting to the Traditional Healing and Wellness Manager. As part of the IPHCC’s ongoing commitment to promoting high quality care provision through the Model of Wholistic Health and Wellbeing, the Traditional Healing and Wellness program is integral to IPHCC’s overall Health System Transformation work with the priority being to support Indigenous people, communities and partners in the work of reclaiming safe spaces for Traditional Healing within primary health care settings in Ontario. IPHCC membership will support and guide this work, drawing on their expertise and experiences to strengthen the deliverables and outcomes. A key focus will be the development of an accreditation model for Traditional Healing, with culture at the heart.

The Accreditation specialist will support IPHCC in developing a framework for a full and thorough accreditation process that is to be later considered by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA). This position is expected to work remotely, with some travel in Ontario required.

**Responsibilities**
- Creates the development of a workplan that identifies key deadlines, outputs, etc.
- Leads the development of an accreditation project plan that aligns Traditional Healing with mainstream medical models; mapping processes and standards of excellence for Traditional Healing and Cultural services
- Leads the development of an evaluation framework, performance indicators and tools for evaluating the accreditation module and the implementation for ongoing monitoring and sustainability
- Supports communications to inform and update IPHCC membership, team, and stakeholders about project activities
- Manages the organizational assessment and document management systems, working with teams to identify evidence (reports, policies, minutes, program information etc.) that need to be submitted for review to CCA
- Reviews accreditation indicators and assess policy compliance
- Prepares draft for an accreditation framework
- Provides administrative supports to project advisory group
- Advises members of new developments, trends, or changes in accreditation standards.
- Supports the team in updating and ensuring the visibility of all public facing materials (ex. IPHCC Newsletters & Social Media Platforms) for accreditation framework

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in a health, social sciences, or policy field or equivalent combination of education, lived and related work experience
- Knowledge of Indigenous healthcare sector
- Knowledge of Indigenous Traditional Healing and Wellness
- Knowledge of Indigenous peoples history and contemporary experiences in Ontario
- Ability to lead and direct work that demonstrates IPHCC’s commitments to cultural safety, equity, diversity and inclusion approaches
- Experience working with the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, or other related accreditation body
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders and committees and translating knowledge for various audiences
- Strong project management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple projects with complex demands and short timelines
- Proficient in various Microsoft tools, and project management programs

**Compensation**

Salary is commensurate on qualifications, experience and is set within the IPHCC’s established salary grid and policy guidelines.
