This role is responsible for participating in Value Added Services, Marketing, and Sales meetings to identify opportunities for continuous process improvement as well as creating new processes and metrics.Job Responsibilities:Educating employees, customers, contractor installers, and sales representatives on processes and improvement ideasFacilitating meetings to develop and monitor critical service metrics for the value-added services organization; establishing appropriate performance measures and staff for tracking progress of specific prescribed activities and goals and ensuring delivery of business resultsOffering strategic customer sales and technical support; Tracking competitive activity in regionCollaborating with the HarbisonWalker International Sales and Technical Marketing team(s) to develop and support new growth potentials and build a best in class operationPartnering with the HR business partner to develop value added services competency/learning program to develop the installation team(s); leveraging best practices and ensuring knowledge is institutionalized and captured; maintaining headcount needsAssisting with the installation needs within regionLearn and leverage our internal business system and continuous improvement methodology, the HarbisonWalker Business System, to standardize processes for hiring and training and policy and procedure adherenceRequirements:B.S. Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical, or Operations ManagementBilingual skills - English and FrenchRequires experience in refractory installation for both Ferrous and Non-Ferrous applicationsRequires refractory installation equipment operation, repair and troubleshooting knowledgeRequires computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteRequires strong strategic thinking and business problem solving skillsRequires strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environmentRequires strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze dataRequires excellent organization skills with accurate and precise attention to detailRequires self-motivation with the ability to adapt quicklyRequires six plus (6+) years of refractory installation experience or equivalent construction or manufacturing experience considered.Requires two plus (2+) years of people management across a multitude of locations preferred.Physical and Environmental RequirementsPhysical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time taking and hearing; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing, walking, using hands and fingers and reaching with hands and arms; and less than 1/3 of time sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, crawling, kneeling or tasting and smelling.Lifting: Requires lifting up to 50 pounds more than 2/3 of the time; and up to 100 pounds less than 1/3 of the time.Vision: Requires accurate, distance, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.Environment: Requires more than 2/3 of the time in areas exposed to fumes and airborne particles; 1/3 to 2/3 of time working near moving mechanical parts, working in high precarious places, in areas exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, in outdoor conditions, exposed to extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock or vibration; and less than 1/3 of time working in an office setting with limited exposureNoise: Requires exposure to very loud noise (over 85 decibels)ABOUT USHarbisonWalker International BackgroundHWI is the largest supplier of refractory products and services in the United States.
