Position: Energy Manager – Newsmill

GreenFirst is looking for an Energy Manager to provide planning and direction for the Site’s Energy Programs and initiatives to effectively manage and achieve related contractual & legislative requirements, and company goals.
Develop & implement an energy management policy & devise a strategy for reducing energy costs and environmental impact.
• Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
• Promote and provide an energy efficient operation and seek improvements to maximize performance and minimize operating costs.
• Develop and maintain the overall Energy Management Program for the Kapuskasing Site Operations.
• Audit the operation compliance results as related to the IESO market regulation while providing recommendations to improve performance including investigation of major non-compliances.
• Develop and report on the daily and budgeted key performance indicators related to energy consumption and all associated costs.
• Monitor energy program results and provide recommendations to improve performance.
• Conduct and lead energy audits, surveys and work group to develop new energy saving projects.
• Review and analyze energy consumption histories and trends to detect, investigate and rectify exceptions.
• Lead and direct communication between the various government groups, industry and energy associations.
• Prepare and meet the energy management budget, while providing variance analysis and recommendations as needed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or comparable.
• Professional designation of Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
• Experience: 5+ years in energy management process system design, construction, and/or maintenance.
• Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of energy management program development and implementation.
• Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry would be considered an asset.
• Bilingualism: English and French would be an asset

Poste: Gestionnaire de l’énergie – Opérations de Papeterie
GreenFirst est à la recherche d’un(e) Gestionnaire de l’énergie qui sera chargé(e) de planifier et de diriger les programmes et les initiatives énergétiques du site afin de gérer et d’atteindre efficacement les exigences contractuelles et législatives, ainsi que les objectifs de l’entreprise.
Élaborer et mettre en œuvre une politique de gestion de l’énergie et concevoir une stratégie de réduction des coûts énergétiques et de l’impact sur l’environnement.
• Favoriser le respect des conventions collectives et de bonnes relations entre les syndicats, la direction et les employés.
• Promouvoir et assurer une exploitation efficace sur le plan énergétique et rechercher des améliorations pour maximiser les performances et minimiser les coûts d’exploitation.
• Élaborer et maintenir le programme global de gestion de l’énergie pour les opérations du site de Kapuskasing.
• Vérifier les résultats de conformité des opérations par rapport à la réglementation du marché de la SIERE tout en formulant des recommandations pour améliorer la performance, y compris des enquêtes sur les cas de non-conformité majeurs.
• Élaborer des indicateurs de performance clés quotidiens et budgétisés relatifs à la consommation d’énergie et à tous les coûts associés, et en rendre compte.
• Contrôler les résultats du programme énergétique et formuler des recommandations pour améliorer les performances.
• Réaliser et diriger des audits énergétiques, des enquêtes et des groupes de travail pour développer de nouveaux projets d’économie d’énergie.
• Examiner et analyser l’historique et les tendances de la consommation d’énergie afin de détecter, d’étudier et de rectifier les exceptions.
• Diriger la communication entre les différents groupes gouvernementaux, l’industrie et les associations de l’énergie.
• Effectuer des analyses comparatives des opérations et recommander des changements dans les habitudes de consommation afin d’optimiser les coûts d’exploitation.
• Préparer et respecter le budget de gestion de l’énergie, tout en fournissant une analyse des écarts et des recommandations si nécessaire.
Formation : Licence en ingénierie ou diplôme comparable.
• Titre professionnel de gestionnaire de l’énergie certifié (CEM).
• Expérience : Plus de 5 ans d’expérience dans la conception, la construction et/ou la maintenance de systèmes de gestion de l’énergie.
• Connaissances et compétences spécialisées : Connaissance de l’élaboration et de la mise en œuvre de programmes de gestion de l’énergie.
• Bilinguisme : L’anglais et le français seraient un atout.
