Tasks
  1. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  2. Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
  3. Establish and implement policies and procedures
  4. Mediate labour disputes and grievances
  5. Oversee the classification and rating of occupations
  6. Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
  7. Administer benefit employment equity and other human resources programs
  8. Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  9. Manage training and development strategies
  10. Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
  11. Hire, train and supervise staff
  12. Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  13. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
  14. Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
  15. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
