Apply Digital is seeking a strategic and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Director to lead our diverse Technology team. The ideal candidate for this role has a deep understanding of QA methodologies and best practices, with a proven track record of guiding the transformation and evolution of QA teams towards automated tooling in CI/CD pipelines.

As the QA Director, you will shape the strategic direction of Apply Digital's QA discipline alongside the Head of Technology. Your leadership will be instrumental in mentoring, supporting, upskilling, and growing the existing QA team. You will establish processes for setting up and maintaining QA automation and agile QA work practices across all projects for our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Guide the strategic direction and transformation of the QA team.
  • Mentor all QA team members, providing guidance and support for improving their contribution to the teams.
  • Take ownership of the testing process, providing leadership to the QA team.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership from other disciplines to improve QA-related workflows.
  • Allocate and coordinate QA resources across various projects.
  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to information analysis.
  • Manage the QA department budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system, and compliance audits.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Contribute to the sales and qualification phase of multiple projects, providing QA expertise to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, best practices, tools, and processes, with a focus on Agile/Scrum development principles.
  • Familiarity with the principles of test automation and CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to guide teams in incorporating QA best practices into these processes.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and oversee strategic plans for quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience providing mentorship and fostering the growth and development of team members.
  • Strong client-facing skills and the ability to provide QA expertise to stakeholders during the sales and qualification phase of projects.
  • Exceptional change management skills, with a track record of guiding teams through transformations towards automation and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with leadership from other disciplines to improve QA-related workflows.
  • Engineering or Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • QA-related certification (ie. ISTQB) or equivalent experience.
