Work Arrangement:  This role offers the flexibility of a dynamic work environment. It involves frequent travel to various Flair Airlines locations, and occasional work during evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational needs.

Position Overview:

The Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation and maintenance of quality standards and procedures within the airline's operations. They lead a team of dedicated auditors and are responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of services provided, with a keen focus on safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The role demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a profound understanding of aviation regulations and industry best practices.

Primary Job Functions:

The Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for the following: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality assurance auditors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and evaluations of operational processes, facilities, and equipment to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including flight operations, maintenance, safety, and training, to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to assess quality trends, identify root causes of deficiencies, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance overall quality performance.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and participate in audits and inspections to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Facilitate training and education programs for employees to promote awareness of quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on quality assurance matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders and representing the organization in industry forums and working groups. 


Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001) and aviation regulatory compliance are assets.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within the aviation industry.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and implementing quality management systems and processes.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and safety management systems (SMS).
  • Knows the provisions of CARS and IOSA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Leading as a Flair teammate by demonstrating collaborative behavior and modeling the company's values in all interactions.
  • Maintaining diverse relationships with peers and stakeholders to foster effective communication and collaboration.
  • Delivering results with impact by setting clear goals, prioritizing tasks effectively, and continuously striving for improvement in performance and outcomes.

Requirements: 

  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • Ability to maintain a valid Passport for work travel.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
