Human Resources Manager, Nairn Centre, Ontario
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the delivery of the Human Resource functions for the Narin Centre and Gogama mills in Ontario. You will be responsible for the delivery of Interfor’s Human Resources plans and programs across its Sawmills and Woodlands Operations and located at our Nairn Centre location. This position will partner with management to deliver strategic talent development activities, administer labour and employee relations events, and effectively implement HR programs and initiatives.
Partner with leaders to deliver strategy related to diversity, attraction and retention, talent reviews for hourly and salary workforce.
# Provide expertise, support and advice for the mill in all aspects of HR including Labour Relations, onboarding, performance management, leave management, discipline, employee relations, offboarding, payroll support, hourly compensation administration and compliance.
# Support rollout and implementation of HR Operations goals and initiatives (attraction, retention and diversity strategies).
# Be active in the community, identifying activities to promote Interfor in the community and put in action diversity initiatives.
# Manage the development, implementation and administration of human resource policies and procedures. Communicate and interpret policies and procedures as necessary.
# Collect, analyze and report out on key HR metrics.
# Provide advice and information to managers on the interpretation and application of the collective agreement and workplace legislation and policies.
# Provide advice and guidance and oversee the leave management, duty to accommodate, and return to work process related to WSIB Ontario and STD/LTD programs.

8-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including talent development, labour and employee relations and community engagement.
HR experience in a unionized manufacturing setting.
Experience managing multi-site operations would be considered an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
English and French bilingualism would be considered an asset.
Ability to travel between the 2 locations to occasionally travel to other Interfor sites/offices.
