In your role as Financial and Business Analyst you will be responsible to develop policies, report and implement systems related to travel and events for all the banners in the company. This role involves a deep understanding of the financial and operational aspects of the travel and events industry, including corporate travel, event management companies, hospitality, and related services. The job encompasses a variety of responsibilities tailored to ensuring the financial health and strategic alignment of travel and event operations within an organization or for clients.

Your Role:
  • Develop the travel and events policies for the organization.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with Travel and Events policies and systems of internal control adherence to policy, working with third parties, finance and the organization.
  • Develop and report accurate and reliable financial information related to Travel and Events spend, policy adherence and approval overrides.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures through process reviews.
  • Budgeting and forecasting travel and events.
  • Report on budget vs. spend monthly to senior leadership.
  • Work with third party Travel and Events partners on contract negotiations, relationships and implementation of controls and reporting requirements.
  • Develop strategies to enhance processes based on issues reported by NWC employees who use the services.
    Implement a new expense management system for GH, expanding to NCR operations and potentially international.
  • Implement approval process controls and expense reimbursement for expense items and corporate credit cards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal travel clients to understand needs and how we will meet them.
  • Develop travel dashboards for business leaders so they can understand and monitor their teams adherence to policy.
  • Monitor travel spend against annual operating budget.
  • Identify and implement processes to optimize cost-efficiency.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • BCom./Business Administration Degree.
  • Minimum 2 years financial analytical, management, or a related field experience.
  • Ability to quickly capture, analyze, report and summarize large data sets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office , with a focus on Excel ( utilizing formulas and macros ).
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks without direct supervision, while paying strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to confidently and expertly interact with internal and external stakeholders.
