Onsite work would be approximately once every couple of months, depending on requirements on the project. POSTION REQUIREMENTS - Criteria & Qualification MUST HAVE SKILLS:

        • Proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:
                • University graduation in Computing Science or a related discipline and 2-yr Server Analyst experience or
                • 2-yr diploma in Computing Science or a related discipline and 4-yr Server Analyst experience or
                • 1-yr certificate in Computing Science or a related discipline and 5-yr Server Analyst experience or
                • 7-yr Server Analyst experience
        • Proposed resource has agreed to an Enhanced Security Check upon contract award.
        • Must have the last 3 years continuous residency in either Canada or United States as minimum.
        • 1 year experience provisioning and supporting VMware ESXi 7.0 in an environment of 20 or more hosts.
        • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during block time/change windows outside of normal Government of Alberta business hours (8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Alberta time, Monday to Friday).
        • Proposed resource must work from within Edmonton or Calgary, due to datacenter proximity.
        • 3 years experience using vCenter Server using HA and DRS.
        • 2 years industry experience working as a server support analyst supporting Windows 2019 or 2022.

        • Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, troubleshoot, work independently and as part of a team.
        • Ability to manage stress and conflict.
        • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management, and vendors.
        • Able to participate in a 7/24/365 on call rotation.
        • 1 year experience automating tasks within Windows and vCenter utilizing PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible or other.
        • 1 year experience deploying updates using a centralized patch management tool (Ivanti, SCCM, WSUS, LCM or other).
        • 1 year experience using HP OneView to manage C7000 blade enclosures and Synergy Frames.
        • 1 year experience using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
        • 1 year experience with HP server hardware: C7000 blade enclosures, Synergy Frames, and their related compute modules.
        • Duration – 1 year experience with Service Now or alternative ticket management system for Change Management, Incident Management and Service Requests.
        • 3 years hands on experience working in a complex environment requiring prioritization of tasks and deliverables.
        • 3 years hands on experience working in a multi-team IT support environment providing services to other teams and clients.
        • 0.5 years industry experience working as a server support analyst supporting Azure Stack HCI.
        • Duration – 2 years experience managing resource capacities in a VMware ESXi environment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Description & Responsibilities Description: Project Name: Vulnerability Remediation Scope: Reporting to the Team Lead, Server Operations, Technology and Innovation, the Intermediate Server Analyst (Infrastructure) shall be responsible for day-to-day operations within the Government of Alberta (GoA) Server Environment, focusing on windows virtual server support activities. The role is to assist in the daily operational support of a virtual server environment, with a focus on a VMware virtualized hosting infrastructure. Excellent customer focus and client service skills, a proven ability to function in both individual and team environments, and exceptional technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills are desired. The contracted resource must adhere to existing GoA policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and practices. Duties: Responsible for proactively maintaining and improving the server core infrastructure functionality and to work within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements.
        • Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution.
        • Perform hardware and OS installations, migrations and/or upgrades.
        • Plan for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations.
        • Develop and maintain documentation.
        • Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software.
        • Develop system related procedures.
        • Provide cross training and knowledge transfer to other server team members on relevant aspects of hardware and software support.
