THE OPPORTUNITY

We are excited to partner up with our new client in their search for an Intermediate/Senior Environmental Consultant based out of Fort St. John, BC. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set and experience with Pre-Construction, Remediation, and Reclamation projects. In this position, you will work in a team atmosphere to ensure project requirements are completed safely and efficiently. You will provide cost-effective solutions while offering our clients a high quality of work and maintaining professional ethics.

KEY ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
  1. Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  2. Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
  3. Lead and supervise small and large-scale reclamation and remediation projects.
  4. Assist with the execution of Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments.
  5. Complete detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring.
  6. Coordinate and supervise tree planting.
  7. Manage and meet all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements.
  8. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives, and SOP’s.
  9. Implement internal and client safety programs.
  10. Remain updated with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide current information as it becomes available to staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years of Environment Consultant experience or relevant field experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation, or similar discipline.
  • Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods.
  • Access to 4X4 vehicle with a valid class 5 license.
DESIRED SKILLS
  • Professional designation or articling to obtain an asset.
  • Knowledge of the water act and experience with wetland classification is an asset.
  • Understanding of the upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB & BC.
  • Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands.
  • Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills.
  • AIA and or SIA Member (preferred but not necessary).
