**Intermediate Environmental Technician**

Oakhill Environmental Inc. (Oakhill) is a team of engineers, scientists and field technicians who have been successfully providing environmental consulting services across Ontario since 1994. Our services range from
Environmental Site Assessments to identify potential environmental liabilities to air dispersion modeling of chemical release at an industrial facility to satisfy a regulatory body.

We are seeking someone with a positive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn, to join our team as an
**Intermediate Environmental Technician **for our environmental team.

**Role Overview**:

- Filing and managing project related field notes, data entry, research, and assistance with report preparation including Phase 1 & 2 ESAs, ECAs, and EASRs
- Carrying out field work (i.e. groundwater monitoring, soil sampling through test pit excavation or borehole drilling, soil vapour sampling, surface water sampling, noise sampling etc.) or office assignments under the direction of senior staff members
- Maintaining excellent field notes and collecting and handling soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapour samples
- Performing and recording work tasks efficiently and accurately while adhering to current industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Utilise MicroSurvey / CAD to draft technical drawings including site overviews, groundwater contour modelling, sampling locations and data tables.
- Processing GNSS data from the field and extrapolating data from georeferenced MicroSurvey models.
- Potential travel to job sites within southern Ontario

**Experience/Requirements**:

- Undergraduate Degree or College Diploma in Environmental Sciences or Engineering **is required**.
- Strong knowledge and experience using CAD software(s) and/or GIS software is an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with particular attention to detail and accuracy of field notes
- A team player, strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills essential
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong at multi-tasking, organized and adaptable to shifting priorities
- A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
- Experience in the consulting industry with Phase 1 & 2 ESAs, ECAs, or EASRs is an asset
- Previous experience with soil and groundwater sampling is an asset

This is a full-time one-year contract position - hours will vary depending upon project availability.

**Salary**: $18.50 per hour
