Job Responsibilities

(Internal Title - Project Controls Lead)

  • Responsible for the facilitation and documentation of design decisions as well as data and reporting standards to support effective and efficient rollouts of BI reporting
  • Develop a plan for integrated project controls including scope, cost, schedule, and progress of assigned projects based on industry best practices and by incorporating client’s requirements when required
  • Review and analyze project information and provide guidance to the project execution team on the project health
  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all project controls deliverables
  • Follow procedures and governance for consistency and predictability, and escalate any improvement of deficiency in the process or procedures
  • Recommend the resources and organization (skills, manpower, list of tools and procedures applicable and communications) needed to achieve the control strategy to ensure the consistent implementation of the project control system for all projects
  • Present and intepret monthly report to the Program Manager and identify risks and opportunities
  • Manage own time with minimal supervision and escalate non-routine issues
  • Ensure the accuracy of program data which is incorporated into project reports 
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of program reports utilizing tools such as Oracle BI and Excel
  • Design and build lists, graphs, scorecards, metrics, filters, prompts, and dashboards
  • Consult with the team regarding the maintenance of robust processes and procedures to allow for efficient workflow compliance with systems and standards
  • Collaborate with the data architecture and technical development team to ensure the creation of an efficient technical solution that meets all functional business needs
  • Facilitate working sessions with central and distributed end users and management to identify and document current reporting systems, base or user populations, and current and planned initiatives impacting reporting
  • Direct the development of key project deliverables and artifacts such as business requirements, functional design documents, fit or gap analyses, proposed data models, and report mock-ups
  • Provide guidance on troubleshooting and fixing reports
Qualifications Required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with technology with a strong focus on Data Warehouse and enterprise reporting solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing applications, reports, and dashboard
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing reports against an OLAP data source

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Skills and Competence:

  • Expert grasp of the Construction and Engineering industry
  • Must have worked within an application development environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing reports using various tools (Oracle BI Publisher, Qlik suite or Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of ETL development responsible for designing and creating the data warehouse and all related extraction, transformation, and load of data functions
  • Competent in working with stakeholders and end-users to define, test, elicit, and deliver technical and functional BI requirements by making use of Business Intelligence reporting tools
  • Proven success in delivering reporting solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders
  • Mastery of BI development, testing, and change management
  • Sound understanding of Oracle Business Intelligence Analysis report development
  • Advanced skills with relational and multidimensional database schemas and writing queries
  • Proficient in Programming or Scripting
  • Adept to solve real-world business problems by designing and building queries sourced from OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) cubes, applying data mining algorithms, writing queries, and designing reports using various tool sets and a SQL Server data warehouse
  • Working knowledge of cloud applications in Microsoft and Oracle preferred with the ability to design OLAP DB and report architecture for future scalability
  • Extensive background in effective information delivery design and report development
  • Demonstrated capability to lead large and diverse Reporting team. Supervise, delegate, and develop their capacity 
  • Ability to think and plan strategically (work plans, activities, timetables, targeting, etc.) and operate with execution excellence
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot
  • Effective skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) and extensive use of its advanced analytical capabilities
  • Strong SQL, data analysis, and visualization skills
  • Experience with performance tuning
  • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership 
  • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
  • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
