Journalism & Editorial Intern (Unpaid) The MRG Group - BeatRoute
MRG is Canada’s largest independent concert promoter and live entertainment venue operator. We produce over 1000 events annually across 9 owned and operated venues and have produced concerts hosted in clubs and arenas domestically, as well as Europe and Asia-Pacific. Our diverse portfolio includes leading hospitality businesses, experiential venues like Par Tee Putt and Par Tee Pong, as well as AdmitOne, the fastest-growing multi-product ticketing platform in North America. BeatRoute is seeking a Journalism & Editorial Intern (Unpaid) who is passionate about music, storytelling, and culture. You’re a strong writer with an eye for detail, who thrives in fast-paced creative environments. If you love discovering new artists, crafting compelling editorial content, and want hands-on experience.
This is an unpaid internship that qualifies for course credit if needed.


Assist in writing, editing, and scheduling articles and posts across BeatRoute’s plans.
Use SEO best practices to optimize stories for visibility and audience engagement.
Support the creation of visual assets for articles using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
Work with project management tools like Asana and Slack to manage workflow.
Track readership metrics and provide insights on content performance.
Conduct research on industry trends, competitor strategies, and audience preferences to inform marketing and sales strategies
Use SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines, ensuring high visibility and traffic to our website.

Passion for Music: Deep knowledge and love for various music genres, artists, and the music industry as a whole.
Creativity: Ability to think creatively and produce original, engaging content that stands out.
Editorial & Writing Experience: Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Passion for Music: Deep knowledge of diverse music genres and current trends.
Adobe Creative Suite Skills: Basic proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign.
Social Media Awareness: Understanding of how editorial content performs across platforms.
