MRG is Canada’s largest independent concert promoter and live entertainment venue operator. We produce over 1000 events annually across 9 owned and operated venues and have produced concerts hosted in clubs and arenas domestically, as well as Europe and Asia-Pacific. Who you are:

BeatRoute is seeking a Journalism & Editorial Intern (Unpaid) who is passionate about music, storytelling, and culture. You’re a strong writer with an eye for detail, who thrives in fast-paced creative environments. If you love discovering new artists, crafting compelling editorial content, and want hands-on experience.

This is an unpaid internship that qualifies for course credit if needed.

Fine Print:

- Assist in writing, editing, and scheduling articles and posts across BeatRoute’s plans.
- Use SEO best practices to optimize stories for visibility and audience engagement.
- Support the creation of visual assets for articles using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
- Work with project management tools like Asana and Slack to manage workflow.
- Track readership metrics and provide insights on content performance.
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitor strategies, and audience preferences to inform marketing and sales strategies
- Use SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines, ensuring high visibility and traffic to our website.

We are looking for someone with:

- Passion for Music: Deep knowledge and love for various music genres, artists, and the music industry as a whole.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively and produce original, engaging content that stands out.
- Editorial & Writing Experience: Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Passion for Music: Deep knowledge of diverse music genres and current trends.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent grammar, tone, and fact-checking skills.
- Adobe Creative Suite Skills: Basic proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign.
- Social Media Awareness: Understanding of how editorial content performs across platforms.
- Strong Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, with an ability to collaborate effectively.

Internship Program Term

Start Date: January 6, 2026

End Date: April 24, 2026
