**Job Description** Toronto Star 3 month Internship**

Come and join the program that gave so many of Canada’s journalists their start: the Toronto Star’s one-year internship.

This internship is for early-career journalists — college
- and university-level students or recent graduates who have less than five years of experience in the profession — **interested in working in any part of our newsroom, from reporting and photojournalism to digital producing and multimedia**. You must have some form of journalism experience — previous internships or roles in a range of organizations, freelance or non-traditional outlets.

Interns work with full-time staff in a challenging but supportive environment.

All Star internships are paid, contract positions.

**Position would be based out of Toronto.**

- Three examples of your journalism **that showcase the type of work you would like to do at the Star**

**Application should demonstrate**
- A range of story-telling skills, with a strong emphasis on news coverage
- Proven ability to report thoroughly, write well and organize information
- Multimedia experience, including social media, video, audio, digital producing and design and photography
- Reporting experience outside school assignments and a demonstrated commitment to journalism as a career
- Strong interpersonal skills

This role is represented by Unifor Local 87-M.

Salary - $40,046.19 to $54,127.48
