Our client, a growing and dynamic company specialized in the service industry, is looking for a Controller to join their team.

In this position, you will be responsible for the financial management of 3 divisions through the management of the accounting department, preparation of management reports, and corporate strategies. 

As a Controller, you will be proactive and act as the main support to the CFO and CEO. Your main challenge will be to grow the team, improve operational processes as well as the speed of reporting, and ensure its accuracy.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will:

- Review the (monthly and annual) financial and consolidated statements for 3 divisions
- Due to the increase in sales and large growth, implement procedures, streamline processes, and improve the delay in issuing financial reports
- Prepare budget for all divisions
- Review payables, receivables and QST/GST
- Recommend and participate in improvement measures when necessary
- Participate in the cash flow preparation
- Provide a meaningful analysis of all reports
- Generate a variety of ad hoc financial reports
- Advise support staff on general accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, procedures and requirements
- Supervise government filings as required
- Increase the use of the system
- Supervise year-end audit

Qualification Criteria:

- Accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA) – an asset
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role – experience as a controller
- Analytical mind, motivation and ability to function under minimal supervision
- Ability to make the numbers talk, proactive and dynamic
- Hands-on approach, autonomy, diplomacy, tenacity, rigor, and flexibility
- Strong managerial skills regarding the support, training and motivation of support staff
