An Edmonton client is searching for a Project Accountant to join their team.

Project Accountant Highlights:

• This is a newly created role to alleviate workload.

• The company has experienced substantial growth with multiple projects ongoing across Alberta (AB) and British Columbia (BC).

• Recent expansions into Calgary and upcoming operations in Ottawa.

• The company owns and rents out buildings, generating revenue ranging from $20M to $40M.

• Responsibilities:

• Maintain project ledgers and oversee full-cycle project accounting from setup to closeout.

• Review and correct cost coding discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in budget maintenance.

• Issue purchase orders and assist with change order processes.

• Conduct profitability and performance analysis for projects.

• Read and understand project contracts and subcontractor documentation to align project setup procedures with contract terms.

• Prepare monthly lender draws and assist with year-end preparations and audits.

• Handle monthly GST reporting and reconcile accounts.

• Perform ad hoc projects and other assigned duties as needed.

• Qualifications:

• Near completion or recently completed CPA designation.

• 2-3 years of experience, preferably in the construction industry.

• Ability to work full-time in an office setting.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Advanced troubleshooting and communication abilities.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently or within a team.

• Excellent analytical skills and accounting knowledge.

• 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM - Monday to Friday

• $60,000 to $70,000/year
