The Position:

Neelands is searching for an Energy Engineering Technician reporting to our Engineering Manager in our Burlington, Ontario office. The successful candidate will provide deliverables to Refrigeration and Energy departments. We encourage candidates with their Certified Energy Manager (CEM)/CEM-IT or those interested in obtaining their certificate to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and submit energy rebate applications (Nationally)
  • Communicate with utility providers, nationally
  • Assist with quoting replacement equipment and preparing energy advantage calculations
  • Work with the engineering team to develop AutoCAD drawings, schedules and calculations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification an asset
  • Certified Energy Manager In-Training (CEM-IT) is an asset
  • Post secondary degree in relevant field
  • Experience working within the energy industry
  • Previous experience completing rebate applications is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to effectively liaise with project managers, contractors and vendors
  • The ability to ensure compliance with all standards and specifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Well organized, able to multi-task, and have strong problem-solving capabilities
