Role:

As a maintenance and materials technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the operations of the shop and yard facilities by maintaining equipment, managing tool inventories, and handling material deliveries and distribution. This role is vital in supporting the logistical needs of our projects and keeping our operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

· Conduct inspections of equipment and tools to identify and resolve issues before they impact productivity.

· Purchase tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring that all supplies meet our quality standards and budgetary requirements.

· Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and tools within the shop.

· Deliver equipment, tools, and materials to construction sites.

· Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses while keeping within budget constraints.

· Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules, inventory, and purchasing data.

· Ensure the shop and work areas are clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.

· Assist in the development of maintenance protocols and efficiency improvements.

· Collaborate with other departments to support their operational needs with tools and materials.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training is a plus.

· Experience in equipment maintenance and operations.

· Strong understanding of inventory management.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to lift heavy objects.

· Good communication and organizational skills.

· Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory software proficiency.
