The Company:

Our client is a fast growing food manufacturer. They operate with a dedicated small management team and are looking to hire for a critial supply chain role in one of their facilities. Supporting global sales and operations, this is a stable environment to build a career with upside in Supply Chain.

The Opportunity:

The Production Planner / Scheduler's key mandate is to plan the production schedule according to order and inventory requirements, and provide accurate information to production, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, customer service, and QC & QA teams. Also, you would be responsible for maintaining production files and reviewing inventory levels.

Responsibilities & Job Duties:

  • Review customer’s orders and inventory requirements daily
  • Plan/schedule production of various lines according to business and customer requirements
  • Control and monitor production schedule by effectively communicating with various departments such as production, purchasing, customer service, QC & QA, logistics, and warehouse
  • Generate and maintain accurate production log and other scheduling related reports as required
  • Review and analyze production schedule to identify potential issues and proactively correct situations
  • Review production performance and capabilities
  • Prepare forecasted ingredient usage log for next day's production
  • Input production raw ingredient usage requirement into raw material inventory log, and effectively communicate material shortages to relevant teams
  • Review and adjust raw material inventory log as requiredProvide backup and support for other Supply Chain functions as required
  • Part of HACCP team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and communications skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt, multi-task, and prioritize projects in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point), experience in Business
  • Vision and any ERP systems is a bonus
  • Willingness to go beyond expectations, learn new skills and take on new challenges & responsibilities

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Science & Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field required
  • 3 – 5 years of experience working in production planning, detailed scheduling, replenishment planning, or materials management required
  • Strong aptitude for mathematics, data management, statistics, probabilities, etc.
  • 3+ years experience in the food industry or related field is required
  • ·Experience working in food facilities, with understanding of food allergens / Food safety standards.
