The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A will collaborate with the Finance department and other stakeholders of the organization including senior finance leaders and executives to ensure that LendCare business unit level analysis is completed. The incumbent will play a crucial role in monthly, quarterly, and year end processes, will be involved in various ad-hoc projects, and will deliver in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis as they arise. The individual will report to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at LendCare and will be based at the Pickering office.

What You'll Do:  

  • Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Support the budgeting process to develop accurate, frequent, and timely re-forecasts for the LendCare business unit.
    • Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget/forecast/prior year, providing meaningful commentary to management on its performance.
    • Develop financial models incorporating business initiatives into the budgeting and forecasting process.
    • Monitor and report on economic, industry, consumer, and competitive developments.
    • Work proactively to improve operations, processes, and policies to improve alignment with business plan.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Assist with various projects and initiatives through data sourcing, exploration, cleanup, manipulation and design
    • Support data validation, consolidation and cleansing processes to present data in a consumable form

  • Enhance Management Reporting:
    • Perform accounting research and write/review technical accounting memos on significant accounting matters
    • Prepare in depth analysis of business results – translating the reported financial results to actionable information on the Company’s business units
    • Prepare quarterly KPI reports, competitor analysis and other board documents
    • Assist with developing the appropriate set of performance metrics, to monitor performance and react accordingly
    • Continuously enhance the management reporting package, providing increasing in-depth analysis based on the evolving needs of the business and its leadership team

  • Deliver Crucial Analysis and Line of Business Support:
    • Assist in the development of business cases for initiatives contemplated by the business units and provide post-implementation analysis on newly executed initiatives.
    • Develop strong understanding of the business, identifying areas of investigation and analysis in line with the Company’s goals and objectives.
    • Create or update process documentations and provide timely support to different stakeholders.
    • Prepare the working papers for the federal and provincial retail sales tax reporting on insurance premium and assist on the return submission and payment
  • Support Strategic Projects:
    • Support strategic projects such as acquisitions, divestitures, new business ventures and post-merger integration as they emerge
    • Assist and collaborate in financial modeling, valuation and due diligence efforts related to potential acquisitions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant FP&A, Accounting, and/or Data Analytics experience
  • Either have or pursuing Professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA)
  • Advanced Excel skills, financial modeling, sensitivity analysis (DCF), ROA and ROI
  • Knowledge of Sage 300, Tableau, Power BI, and Accounting Systems (ERP)
  • Able to commute to the Pickering office regularly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to details.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
