Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture (P&C), this role works closely across all business functions and our family of companies to ensure a consistent and impactful approach to communications. Develop and share internal and external stories that highlight employees, projects, community involvement, and industry achievements
Elevate Volker’s brand presence through strategic content for websites, social media, and other platforms
Partner with external photographers and travel to site to capture photos of our project and people
Internal Communications
Lead initiatives to support employee engagement through newsletters, events, and campaigns
Support the development and launch of an enhanced employee intranet including stakeholder consultation, content creation, and administration
Implement plans and create documents for project updates, program rollouts, and organizational changes
Work alongside our Safety, People & Culture, and CSR teams in the creation of campaigns and tactics
Brand Compliance & Visual Content
Ensure consistent application of branding across all materials, including swag, signage, and logos
Collaborate on graphic design and video editing projects to develop visually engaging content
Community & Industry Engagement
Promote the company’s community involvement through project announcements and profiles
Partner with business leaders to identify communication needs and align efforts with broader organizational goals
Assist in the development of reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
~5+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with a focus on internal and external storytelling
~ Industry experience in construction or related sectors is an asset
~ Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills tailored to diverse audiences
~ Proficiency in digital tools for content management, social media, graphic design, and video editing
~ Strong strategic planning abilities and a results-oriented approach to communications
~ Sound judgement and business acumen, with the ability to align communications strategies with organizational goals and understand the broader industry and market context
~ Creative, collaborative, and adept at managing multiple priorities
