About the Role

We are looking for a bookkeeper to join our Finance team This role will be an important addition to our high-performing team as our business continues to grow. In this role, you will work closely with our existing bookkeeper, payroll, Controller, and CFO to support key operational and financial processes that enable 8Twelve to continue to grow. 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Complete required G/L entries, including posting of subledger details into the G/L. - Complete various G/L account reconciliations and analysis, on a monthly basis. - Prepare various accruals for month-end reporting. 
  • Prepare monthly intercompany transactions. 
  • Prepare all account reconciliations. 
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable. 
  • Regularly update and maintain the financial ledger. 
  • Handle petty cash transactions. 
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns. 
  • Assist with preparation of the payroll. 
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency of our processes. 
  • Assist with special projects, as necessary. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • An assertive self-starter with a positive attitude, excellent organization and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple demands, good time management skills, and possesses a keen attention to details. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and GAAP - Must be computer-literate and have proficient knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. - Experience using Xero and Quickbooks 
  • Experience in multi-entity environment with knowledge of intercompany relationships. - Ability to develop constructive relationships, in order to work with other departments in the Corporate office, to ensure smooth and timely collection of information required for various accounting and operational purposes.
  • Must be organized, and detail-oriented 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION: 

Candidate should have a minimum of two years experience in a computerized accounting environment. Mortgage and Lending Finance experience would be an asset.
