Our client is a professional services firm in Vancouver.  They are looking for an HR Director to lead and manage the HR department, ensuring the effective implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that support the firm’s business objectives.  We are looking for a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of HR practices, employment law and organizational development, particularly within the context of a professional services environment.
Strategic HR Management:
~Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the firm’s business goals.
~Advise the executive team on HR best practices, policies, and trends.
~Oversight of HR team and work collaboratively with senior department heads throughout the firm.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:
~Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring the attraction of top talent.
~Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and succession planning.

Manage employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
~Performance Management:
~Implement and manage changes to performance appraisal systems to support employee development and accountability.
~Provide coaching and guidance to department heads on performance-related issues.

Learning and Development:
~Oversea certain firm wide training programs that enhance employee skills and support career development.
~Promote continuous learning and development opportunities within the firm.

Compliance and Risk Management:
~Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
~Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
~HR Metrics and Reporting:
~Utilize HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
~Provide regular reports to the executive team on HR activities and outcomes.

Lead change management initiatives to support organizational growth and transformation.
~Facilitate team-building activities and initiatives that promote a positive organizational culture.

Lead the implementation of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
~Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
~Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a professional services environment, preferably in the legal, accounting, finance, brokerage, or insurance areas.
~Extensive experience with HRIS systems, including the selection, implementation, and management of new systems.
~Proven experience in strategic HR planning and execution.
