We’re looking for our next Underwriting Specialist, Property. Under the direction of the AVP, Corporate Underwriting of Temple Insurance, the Property Underwriting Specialist is responsible for the marketing and underwriting of excess property insurance, directly with brokers and intermediaries. This role is based out of our Toronto office.
Assesses and approve risk changes on existing accounts.
Review and approve policy wordings with recommendations on any noted deficiencies brought to the attention of the Broker.
Analyze corporate portfolio and advise of ways to improve efficiency and opportunities.
Represent Corporate F&C Canada in working groups and expert networks, as appropriate.
Participate in developing risk appetite and underwriting strategies for casualty business.
So are YOU our next Underwriting Specialist, Property? CIP/FCIP/CRM designation or progression towards would be an asset.
5 to 10 years of experience underwriting property insurance preferably includingconstruction, operational power, energy & mining.
Prior experience with operational power, heavy manufacturing, energy, mining, construction and civil projects would be considered an asset.
Solid grasp of commercial general liability insurance products and wordings.
Previous experience with insurance business development and sales would be an asset.
Strong collaboration and team building skills.
Strong computer ability, specifically with MS Office Products
