The Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of El Catrin Destileria, Cluny Bistro, Pure Spirits Oyster House and Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Jardin Kitchen and Juice Bar, and Distillery Events, is looking for a keen and experienced Jr. Our venues are located in the Distillery Historic District, one of North America’s most exciting art and shopping destinations and home to some of the top-ranked restaurants in the City of Toronto, including ours.
Working in our kitchen... you will acquire the skills, knowledge, experience, and confidence to take the next steps in your culinary career, meeting and working with the best in Toronto.
26 per hour, plus tip out
Field trips to our various suppliers to learn more about where our food comes from and the work that goes into growing/cultivating it
Supervise the Kitchen team and ensure that all standards are being met.
Communicate the restaurant's vision to all team members and leadby example. Consistently monitor kitchen operations and cleanliness.
Support ordering and receiving, ensuring proper product levels, rotation and storage.
Lead and support a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and cooking.
Give suggestions to Sous Chefs, the Chef de Cuisineand the Executive Chefon how to improve kitchen area, process/procedures, etc.
Support training and development initiatives as well as performance management and employee coaching.
What you’ll to bring to the kitchen:
You’ve got around five (5) years’ experience cooking in afast-paced restaurant environment with progressive growth into leadership roles. Your current role should be CDP, Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef.
Experience with Spanishcuisine is a definite asset
You’re a strong problem solver with an insatiable desire to impact performance.
You want to lead a team through healthy relationship building and positive communication skills.
