We are currently looking for a Merchandise Associate to join our dynamic Merchandising team.

The ideal candidate will embody our values with PRIDE (Passion to serve, Respect, Impact, Doing the right thing, Enterprising). As a Merchandise Associate at FIELDS, you will play a crucial role in supporting our merchandise operations, embodying our mission of service and dedication to our customers and community. You will be responsible for various tasks, including item creation, purchase order creation, distribution, and Product Group Category (PGC) reporting. Proficiency in Excel is an asset for this role. The position will start as 100% in-office during training and will gradually transition to a hybrid role.

As a Merchandise Associate, you will:

Create and maintain item records in the company’s database ensuring accuracy and completeness of product information in line with our commitment to excellence
Generate purchase orders based on inventory levels, sales forecasts, and merchandise requirements ensuring that we meet our customers’ needs
Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of merchandise, reflecting our dedication to reliability and efficiency
Assist in the distribution process, including inventory management, shipment tracking, and resolving any shipping issues, upholding our standards of service
Prepare and analyze Product Group Category (PGC) reports to monitor sales performance, identify trends and make data-driven recommendations, contributing to our vision of becoming a leading value merchant
Engage with the sales, marketing and inventory management teams to enhance merchandise selection and pricing strategies
Provide administrative support to the merchandise department as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team in achieving our goals

Who You Are:

Previous experience in a merchandise or retail environment is preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.), including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, supporting our data-driven approach to decision making
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and systems
Knowledge of inventory management principles is an asset, enhancing your ability to contribute to our success
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to professional development
