Story Behind the Need:

• Business Group: GTS – Database Operations
• The main function of a Database Administrator is to provide database support on a variety of hardware and software platforms and peripherals.

Candidate Value Proposition:

• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in many key projects and initiatives to further build the Bank’s IAM capabilities. This individual will be collaborating with a strong senior leadership team of IAM and security professionals and gain exposure to industry leading IAM platforms.

Typical Day in Role:

• Quarterly database PSU patching
• Oracle upgrade/migration
• Performance Tunning
• Database P1/P2 support

Candidate Requirements/Must-Have skills:

• 5+ years of experience with Oracle Installation – Database upgrades/migrations on different OS Solaris, Linux, Windows. AIX is nice to have.
• 5+ years of experience with Database creation and upgrade of Oracle database versions 11g, 12c & 19c
• 5+ years of experience with RAC (Real Application Cluster) – setup, configure and support –
• 5+ years of experience with Automatic Storage Management (ASM) – setup, configure and support
• 5+ years of experience with RMAN, RMAN Catalog, backup, restore and Data Pump export/Import
• 5+ years of experience with Data Guard – Database replication tools, setup, configure and support
• 5+ years of experience with Database performance and tuning
• Ability to provide 24×7 production support – rotational shift (1 week a month or 5 weeks pager support after hours)
• Familiar with OEM/Grid Control (13c)
• Familiar with Oracle Exadata

Nice to Have Skills:

• Familiar with Security and Auditing
• Oracle Golden Gate
• Database setup in a Cloud environment
• Oracle Certifications
• Experience working with executives

Soft Skills:

• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate and work closely with external vendors
• Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction
• Good time management and organizational skills to effectively manage high scale project

Education:

• Post-secondary degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
