Cave Springs Camp is gearing up for their seasonal activities and is looking for a Head Chef. This seasonal position is from July 1 to August 30th.
The Head Chef oversees the kitchen to ensure that the kitchen runs in a safe and smooth manner. They are responsible for ordering food and ensuring that campers and staff receive healthy and tasty meals. They provide supervision and direction in the kitchen, ensuring that all kitchen staff have what they need to be successful. They are a senior staff member who is a role model and leader for the staff team.
Attends and participates fully in all staff training programs
Agrees to live by and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and guidelines of Cave Springs Camp.
Create camp menus in accordance with the camp budget and nutritional goals.
Coordinate the procurement of all food.
Supervise the preparation of all food
Coordinate food storage according to all Cave Springs Camp and Niagara Public Health standards.
Ensure that the camp allergy policies are followed in food preparation.
Supervise the provision of menu alternatives for campers and staff with special food needs.
Maintain stock levels of all kitchen supplies.
Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
Comply with all Camp Kitchen Policies and Procedures.
Supervise kitchen clean-up duties, as needed and assigned.
Contribute to the development of faith formation and a supportive Christian community environment.
Act as a positive role-model for campers, staff, volunteers, and others associated with the camping program.
A responsibility and expectation for community living:
Take care of equipment and the camp facility.
Work effectively with year-round and seasonal staff of Cave Springs Camp.
Take responsibility for upholding community norms.
Follow the policies, procedures, and practices of Cave Springs Camp.
