The Role

We are an 85-bed nursing home, looking to appoint an experienced and empathetic Director of Care to our growing team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Campbellton Nursing Home. You will collaborate with the CEO and senior management to ensure the delivery of exceptional care that meets the unique needs of all our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs, promotes and evaluates resident care and nursing standards according to the organizational philosophy of care, vision and mandate.
  • Provides consultation regarding resident issues and standards of resident care to the interdisciplinary team, updating policies and practices according to best practice.
  • Recommends and initiates long-range planning strategies for improvement of health care delivery services, including oversight for research and development activities in the area of care services for residents.
  • Monitors regulatory criteria to maintain compliance.
  • Supervises and evaluates the work of staff, which includes performance evaluation, training, disciplinary procedures, work assignments.
  • Encourages and promotes relationships with outside resources/organizations to meet resident and community needs.
  • Participates and encourages continuing education to maintain credentials and increase expertise and knowledge in professional clinical nursing and administration.
  • Takes on the role of champion for workplace health and safety.

Campbellton Nursing Home is an 85 bed Nursing Home located in Campbellton NB. Our mandate is to provide quality resident care and our vision is to become an employer of choice in the region.

The Person
  • A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Masters preferred, with recognized courses in administration and/or health care.
  • A current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive nursing experience in health care services (Geriatrics populations preferred) where leadership, administrative ability and competency as a practitioner of nursing has been demonstrated.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and French and or be eligible for second language training.
  • Positive and professional approach.
  • Predisposition for taking on the role of leader.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
