INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

Stathera is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. We encourage driven candidates with a technical background in semiconductor products qualification and with fabless experience working with external wafer foundries and assembly houses to apply to this position.

The Senior Quality Engineer will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be expected to a total of 40 hours per week in hybrid model mainly from our offices either in Montreal, Toronto or Boston.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Lead and approve qualification test plans of semiconductor MEMS products
  • Generate reliability and qualification reports for both internal and external (customer) use
  • Resolve product qualification issues with internal technical teams
  • Support NPI (new product introduction) and conduct qualification failure analysis. Collaborate with the engineering team to debug failures and identify root causes
  • Ensure compliance to ISO 9001:
    2015 standard and lead audits
  • Define good internal practices ISO 9001 compliant
  • Manage document control and maintain the QMS (quality management system)
  • Conduct internal and external (supplier and customer) audits
  • Release formal procedures and reports to satisfy customers
  • Set the priorities in resolving quality issues
  • Explain quality requirements to the staff, how to implement them, and the consequences for not doing so
  • Professional and competent external interaction with customers
  • Develop and close 8D reports
  • Compile vendors’ PPAP, FMEA, Gauge R&R, control plan, etc. for product commercialization
  • Manage Suppliers Quality
  • Failure Analysis/RMA processes

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Direct, hands-on experience in dealing with external wafer foundries (IC and/or MEMS) and assembly and testing houses, in the context of quality control and process qualification
  • Direct, hands-on experience in qualifying semiconductor products in compliance with typical industry standards (e.G. AEC, JEDEC, ISO, RoHS, etc.)
  • Experience in developing, executing, and overseeing qualification plans for semiconductor products with internal and external facilities
  • Experience with semiconductor failure analysis (FA) techniques to identify root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with the engineering team (e.G. new design improvement)
  • Experience in running audits of internal practices and suppliers
  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools (e.G. JMP), sample size definition and confidence intervals, process capability studies, MSA, and gauge R&R
  • Experience in using quality tools in synergy with the engineering team (e.G. 8D, fishbone diagram, 5 Whys, PPAP, PFMEA, etc.)
  • BS in Engineering or equivalent with 5 years of Engineering work in the Semiconductor Industry
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with technical people
  • Must have the ability to work across a variety of global time zones

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with MEMS timing products qualification
  • Experience with MEMS wafer-level process qualification
  • Familiarity with common semiconductor packaging process, such as DFN, QFN, ceramic, etc.
  • Implemented a QMS (quality management system) in a semiconductor, fabless company
  • Familiarity with process monitoring techniques
  • SixSigma certification
  • Experience with document and version control
