This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of AI technology, ethics, and regulatory environments. It emphasizes integrating ethical considerations throughout AI systems' lifecycle and maintaining a comprehensive Enterprise Model Catalogue, alongside a robust Model Risk Governance framework. Join us in shaping the future of retail with AI technology that is safe, ethical, and impactful.

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of AI governance policies and practices that reflect ethical principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement a governance framework that identifies, assesses, manages, and monitors risks associated with the development, deployment, and maintenance of AI models. This includes ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.
  • Establish and oversee a centralized catalogue that provides detailed information on all AI models in use, including their purpose, design, data sources, validation results, and performance metrics.
  • Stay abreast of developments in AI ethics, safety standards, and regulatory changes, and adjust governance policies accordingly.
  • Evaluate AI projects for potential societal, ethical, and technological impacts, ensuring risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
  • Conduct routine audits of AI models to detect and rectify biases, ensuring alignment with fairness standards.
  • Curate and deliver training sessions and materials to promote understanding and adherence to responsible AI principles among internal teams.
  • Advocate for AI model interpretability, ensuring decisions made by such models, especially in sensitive domains, are explainable to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed responsible AI principles into daily processes, ensuring alignment between technical and ethical considerations.
  • Collaborate with AI development teams to incorporate safety and ethical considerations into the AI lifecycle, from design to deployment and monitoring.
  • Lead engagement with internal and external stakeholders on AI safety and impact issues, including transparency reports and public communications.
  • Set up channels for users and stakeholders to communicate concerns about AI outputs and lead the subsequent resolution processes.
  • Align responsible AI initiatives with the company's wider mission, ensuring that ethical AI practices bolster the organization's objectives and reputation.

What you bring

  • PhD or Masters degree in Computer Science, AI, Ethics, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience in AI ethics, policy, or governance roles, ideally within the tech or retail industry.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, their applications, and potential societal impacts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and ethical issues to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
