WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER The Associate Director ofDevelopment works closely with the development team to implement andcoordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for gift prospects,including corporate, foundation, and individual donors. This person willwork remotely, but is responsible for in-person meetings in theCleveland area and throughout the state of Ohio. The Associate Directorof Development is responsible for building a portfolio of qualifieddonors and developing relationships. They will be responsible fordirect asks to both global and local priorities to meet funding needs.They listen for opportunities for gifts of assets or other non-cashgifts, such as planned gifts and trade lands. Theyinvolve appropriate partners in the field and staff at the WorldwideOffice, keeping them apprised of interactions, issues or concerns, anddirect questions as appropriate. They may be responsible for volunteerengagement within formal and/or informal networks. They will be requiredto use the Conservancy\'s donor database and may participate in thedevelopment of proposals. Manage a portfolio of 75 - 125 donors,including donors with the capacity to give over \$100,000, once theportfolio is developed. Ensure compliance with TNC policies andprocedures and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements. Manage assigned projects, coordinating the work of peers andsetting deadlines. May manage or participate in complex or sensitivenegotiations. May supervise support or administrative staff.Travel frequentlyand on short notice, work long and flexible hours as needed. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: WHATYOU\'LL BRING Bachelor\'s degree and 5 years related experience or anequivalent combination. Experience building and maintaining long-termrelationships with fundraising constituents. Experience in managing andtracking multiple prospects and donors. Experience, coursework, or other training infundraising principles and practices. Abilit to determine an individual\'s interests, capacityand potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and actappropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancy\'s work.Ability to implement and manage fundraisingplans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation andrecognition plans.
