Reporting directly to the Controller, your main responsibility is to ensure a smooth month end close, build reporting and budgeting tools, and work closely with the operations team to help drive the success of Honeyfield Communities.
You’ll handle all the day-to-day accounting, review, and analysis required to ensure our books are accurate. Your experience with accounts payable, job costing, financial analysis and reporting, and your understanding of the general ledger data structure will help you succeed in this role. 
Ensure compliance with ASPE as well as all company policies and relevant legal regulations
Process payables and oversee the entire accounts payable process and team
Professional  – You have strong communication skills, and you’re comfortable interfacing with senior level executives because of your strong business acumen. 
This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience including benefits.
You will work 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday. We are also looking for someone who is willing and able to work overtime as needed (examples being during month end and other high-volume periods). This position will be based out of our Toronto head office. 
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role with payables responsibilities, working with complex financial data and reporting on this data 
Experience presenting financial information to non-finance audiences
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially strong proficiency with Excel for financial modelling and financial analysis 
Experience with Newstar considered an asset
Post-secondary university degree in business, with a specialization or major in accounting/finance 
CPA graduate or enrolled in program
