Position Title. Data Analyst
Purpose:
The Data Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing data solutions on the various platforms including Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Ingesting data from various On-prem or Cloud sources such as databases, files and APIs into Azure using Azure Synapse Analytics
- Performing data transformation and processing tasks to prepare the data for analysis and reporting
- Collaborating with Data Architects to design and implement data models and maintain data architecture to support data analytics and business intelligence reporting.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translating them into technical requirements
- Ensuring Data Quality compliance by implementing data cleansing, transformation, and monitoring processes. Troubleshooting data-related issues within the Azure environment to maintain high availability and performance.
- Automating data pipelines (DevOps), monitoring data processes and managing deployments
- Keeping abreast of the latest Azure features and technologies to enhance data engineering processes and capabilities.
- Providing support for data governance, including metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging.
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Extensive experience in mining, mining operations, or heavy industry preferred.
- Proficient in Azure Data Factory/Synapse Analytics
- Advanced SQL ‘hands on’ knowledge
- Knowledgeable in ETL Process (Data Ingestion, Transformation, Cleansing, Error Handling)
- Familiarity with Data Modeling and Database Design
- Familiarity in DevOps practices (Github, ADO)
- Familiarity with Azure Security Features
- Familiarity with Python and Scala Programming
- Experience implementing data integration solution in a Mining Operation is preferred.
- Experience in the deployment and operations of autonomous solutions in the mining industry preferred
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- Technical Diploma in Engineering or related field.
