Location: Calgary, AB | Hybrid (4 days in the office, one day remote)

Shifts: Monday – Friday | 40 hours/week

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide subject matter expertise and support the delivery of required foundational data governance standards, processes and practices.

Support the formalization of data ownership and governance across the company business.

Implement necessary data governance policies, procedures, and controls within the Data Office and business functions to ensure data integrity, compliance, and accessibility across the organization.

Analyze and assess existing data governance processes and technologies to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations and action plans for changes that provide direct business value.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, identify gaps, and develop strategies for data integration, optimization, and modernization.

Participate in the migration of data management systems to a defined modern standard, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency throughout the process.

Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity, compliance, and accessibility across the organization.

Evaluate the effectiveness of data management systems and processes and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Assist in the development of data management and data governance training materials and provide guidance to team members and stakeholders on best practices.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of data innovation.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; advanced degree is a plus.

Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related field.

Oil & Gas industry is a plus.

Strong knowledge of data management principles, including data integration, data quality, data governance, master data management, and data architecture.

Experience with data migration, modernization, and optimization projects.

Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS is a plus.

Prior experience with ERP/SAP, HRIS/Workday, ETRM/Allegro is a plus.

Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to data management and governance.

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
